Finally An Update..... : 05.05.2006

Along the way my laptop got mangled so I couldnt update... Just got back to dublin, it's been a crazy trip and its not over yet, we made it safe and sound, we did loose a wingmirror along the way, when i get my pictures off my busted lap I'll post loads of them but for now the few i found on the wedb will have to do, there is also the sat nav trackin images but it was fecking useless so its not a complete list... it just gave up once we got to the hungarian border. I fly out to Las Vegas to catch up whith the gumball mayhem in a few hours, i'll write more on the flight and update as soon as i check in in Vegas. at least 3 cars have been written off so far... So the Euro Gumballers are the turn around, The others go off to the sky while we burn our way back across Europe and enjoy the sites.... Its too difficult to find internet uplinks so i might have to wait till I get more time to write this up.... It's some trip.

Gumball update - Day 2 : 01.05.2006

Haven't stopped driving since we left London at 4pm yesterday, just crossed into Austria, lots of tales to tell, but they will have to wait as we've a lot more driving to do! Our day started well, beautiful cloudless sky, a quick look at the clock suggested the drive to the port might be worth of the spirit of Gumball, probably best not dwell on it, suffice to say that anyone who has seen Rendezvous (the 1976 footage of the ferrari in paris a t 6am will know what went on)... then we missed the fecking ferry, so we had time to enjoy the wonders of Dublin Port, that took about 15 seconds, the guys in irish ferries were great and i actually got a few hours sleep, much needed, then the drive to london was a joy as cruse control and sat nav gave us a chance to relax, the calm before the storm I fear!!! we arrived 3 hours late so we're just about to go join in the fun, parking up we drove past the gumball fleet, it reminded me of a matchbox that richie rich might have but full size, Bam drove in in his lambo with ryan dunne, we met the Infamous "Team Polizi" whos faithfull M5 died 8 days ago... I wont reveal there new Whip... Paul wont let me write anythng fun so I'll updat it later when he fecks off.

So Its 1 a.m. on fridaynight/saturday morning and I havent packed yet, In a surprising move the "mysterious Paul" my co driver invited everyone over to my place for a mini party, so I havent packed. I've had a bottle of "champers" among other things so my packing will probably involve some neurophen and a chocolate bar... ahh well. We have to be up at 5.30 to get on the road.... Guess Paul's driving. On a more serious note we had to make a last moment wheel change, the very expensive Alpina wheels on the BMW were going to cause us problems if we had any problems in Hungary or Serbia so we went back to stock 630 rims... more in the morning.... Gotta Pack....

I'm gonna try to scribble a few lines every day and post up some pictures of Gumball antics. So to get the ball rolling, the BMW im taking is having hand controls fitted as I type. The guys in Motability Ireland are great, I'm very happy to have them on board. So I'm zooming about trying to get my ducks in a row, There's an article in the times about my trip and its opened the flood gates - my email inbox is bursting at the seams... So muuch to do..
